I Donated Plasma Twice, Enjoyed It, and Got $250 in One Week
I’ve always heard about donating plasma, so I decided to try it. I liked it and plan to continue. Read on for the “juicy” details of my experience.
Background
I’ve given blood before and afterwards I always felt very relaxed and slept well. Before the pandemic, the Red Cross routinely came to my company’s offices every six months or so.
I saw an ad from BioLfe Plasma Services, a nationwide plasma donation center, so I decided to investigate. I spent a couple of hours online reading everything Google and ChatGPT could find, including blogs, Reddit threads, reviews of local centers, and plasma donation center Websites.
Based on my cursory review, I chose BioLife Plasma Donation Services in Douglasville, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. From what I read online, I could expect the center to be professional and clean and regulated by the FDA. The staff was friendly. It was better than I expected.
Yes, there are a lot of people who donate plasma for money, but there are also a lot of people who do it to help others. Plasma collection is a business (as is most healthcare in the United States), but there is a need. Plasma cannot be created synthetically, and many diseases and injuries cannot be managed without plasma.
